I've always really liked that painting called "The Angelus" of the farmer and his wife praying in the field and I've always wanted to live in the old days in a little Catholic town where the bells would ring at 6, noon, and 6, and everyone would drop everything and pray the Angelus, and then continue on their way. Here in Bánica, we're trying to bring back that old tradition. The prayer has been printed and distributed and the people seem to be pretty excited about it. When the bell rang at noon yesterday, the cook in the kitchen had her paper at hand, ready to pray. Some of the teenagers asked Fr. Gee to talk to the teachers at the highschool, so that they can pray at noon without getting in trouble for disrupting class. Last night's bell rang during the Teresitas meeting, and all the girls immediately stopped talking and began the Angelus. So, we'll see if it catches on. Pray that it does.
